Andrej graduated at the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, where he also received his MSc and is currently finishing his PhD in destination branding. For the last 22 years he has been involved in mountain biking, first as an athlete and later as a mountain biking infrastructure and tourism consultant. He is focused on innovative and sustainable mountain biking tourism development.
He gained experience in the field of mountain biking tourism in Alpe – Adria region as well as in a variety of other regions from Russia to Egypt. He is the co-founder and CEO of Alliance Action Sports Experts company, where he is responsible for the development of mountain biking infrastructure and tourism products. He has worked on the mountain biking tourism and infrastructure development projects in Austria, Switzerland, Russia, Slovenia, North Macedonia, China, Georgia, Egypt, Croatia, Turkey and others. In addition, he has been working on strategic mountain biking tourism planning and development for destinations, resorts and governmental institutions such United Nations World Torism Organization, Association Rota Vicentina, Valamar, Slovenian Tourist Board, Georgian National Tourism Association, Active Cyprus, Har hermon recreation & sport services ltd., Erzincan Ergan Dağı Kış Sporları Truzim Merkezi, Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency and others.
He has been an invited speaker for conferences and workshops organized by UNWTO, International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA), Western Mountain Bike Tourism Association, Ride Kongress, TTRA, International Adventure Conference and others.
