Integrated Trail LAB was formally established 2017 in Bozeman, MT. Now members of the “Professional Trail Builders Association” Integrated Trail LAB builds and designs bike parks, pump tracks, flow trails and multi-use trails for city municipalities, government entities, non-profit organizations and private land owners alike. With a passion for dirt jumps and pump tracks Integrated Trail LAB has built the two largest city municipality dirt jump parks in the state of Montana. Bozeman’s Westlake Dirt Jump Park and Missoula’s Syringa Bike Park. Integrated Trail LAB also designed and built Montana’s largest and first public asphalt pump track in Big Sky, MT June 2024. Along with their experience building detailed dirt jump parks and pump tracks Richard and Spencer have built numerous flow trails. Ski resorts, non-profit organizations and private landowners have capitalized on their unique eye and creativity for building flow trails. Including Spanish Peaks Mountain Resort, The City of Sandpoint Idaho and Big Sky Community Organization. Our mission statement, “Building Communities Through Trails” explicitly describes our passion and goal . To build stronger and more robust communities through a creative and enhanced trail network. Integrated Trail LAB will enhance your communities trail network by surpassing industry standards with their experience, dedication, and creativity. As the sport of mountain biking continues to progress and push trail design, it is key that the land owners and entities that fund these trail projects have similar mindsets along side the younger generation of trail builders and riders.
As lifelong friends Richard and Spencer grew up together in Summit County, Colorado. Since the young age of twelve they have been building dirt jumps and trails all over Montana, Colorado and the North West region. Now, twenty years later with over forty years of combined experience they have established one of Montana’s premier trail building companies. Fueled from the love of biking and a passion for trails, their friendship has built and enhanced numerous trail networks in many communities.
Richard’s design background fuels the build side of Integrated Trail LAB. With a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Design and a Masters Degree in Architecture, Richard is an expert in all aspects of trail building. With the ability to conceptualize and design projects on paper and carry them out in the field, his well rounded background gives him the title of full-time dirt architect.
Spencer has worked in the trades for over a decade. With first hand experience and knowledge in most every area of construction, Spencer has a wide variety of acquired skills. But his expertise lies in carpentry. Spencer has framed and built many houses from the ground up. Including concrete and foundations to excavation and dirt work, framing, trim work, cabinets and furniture. He has done it all. Spencer brings precision and accuracy to every aspect of trail building.
